# What is your company data worth?

A valuation gives you an estimated ARR range, broken down by buyer type. If the number stacks up, we run the auction that turns it into revenue.

[Start your valuation](https://app.prod.xferdata.com/auth/login?src=owners-hero)

$1,000  ·  Twenty questions  ·  A number in 48 hours

## Is this worth doing for you?

Probably, if:

- you have run the same core systems for at least three years, and five or more is better
- your product creates data as people use it, not just a record of who your customers are
- you sell to other businesses
- you are somewhere between $5M and $500M of revenue

Probably not yet, if you launched eighteen months ago, or what you hold is essentially a customer list. Come back when there is history in it. We pre-qualify the valuation with known buyer criteria. The valuation will not find buyers where there are none, and we would rather tell you now than take $1,000 to tell you later.

Why this is worth an hour

## Large companies have been doing this for twenty years

Retailers, banks and telecoms have licensed their operational data to aggregators and Wall Street for decades and booked recurring revenue for it. Companies below that size almost never have. Their data was never the problem, simply nobody has shown them a buyer or put a price on it.

The buyers are data aggregators, corporates, Wall Street funds and AI platforms, and what they pay for is live, recurring data they cannot get anywhere else. Your transactions, prices, volumes and lead times are that kind of data.

## How it works

1

### Valuation — $1,000

Twenty questions about your data. Nothing to upload, nothing to connect.

A revenue range by buyer type, what drives it, and a written commentary, benchmarked against what buyers in your category actually pay.

2

### Getting ready for auction

Compliance, provenance and back-testing, and building the pack buyers bid on. One to two months depending on how quickly your side can turn things around.

3

### Auction

Your auction opens and runs for 120 days, with buyer messaging visible to you throughout. The monthly subscription runs until it closes. Multiple winning bidders, and the revenue comes to you.

You are billed monthly until your auction closes.

## What it costs

$1,000 — the valuation

Twenty questions in, a revenue range by buyer type. That is the whole of it, and it is where most people stop to think.

Getting ready for auction is a separate monthly subscription, quoted with your valuation so you see it before you decide anything. Preparation runs one to two months, and the subscription continues through the 120 days of the auction until it closes.

Preparation is the part whose length you control. The subscription runs until the auction closes.

No success fees, no referral fees, no percentage of what you sell. Whatever the auction raises is yours.

Before an auction

## Preparation is real work, and we walk you through it

A sample of the data, lagged history, a field dictionary, and due diligence covering personal data and your right to share. It comes from your side, but you are not guessing at any of it. We specify exactly what buyers need, check it before it goes out, and do it once so a single pack serves every bidder.

## Common questions

Do we have to share data to get a valuation?

No. It is a structured questionnaire about the characteristics of your data — its type, coverage, history, refresh rate and what you are permitted to do with it. Nothing connects to your systems, nothing is uploaded, and no data leaves your business.

What is a data valuation?

An estimate of the annual subscription revenue your data could earn across several buyers at once, given as a range rather than a single figure. It is a recurring revenue estimate, not a one-off sale price.

What if the answer is no?

Then you have spent twenty questions finding out, and you stop. We would rather tell you early than run an auction that fails.

What if our data contains personal information?

It is dealt with before anything reaches a buyer — removed, aggregated, or covered by a verified right to share, signed off before an auction opens. If a dataset cannot be made clean, it does not go to auction.

How do you vet buyers?

Buyers register on the platform, sign master terms covering IP and confidentiality, and are checked for compliance standing before they can bid. You then approve or exclude on top of that.

Who sees our data?

Only buyers you approve, and they are not told who you are. You can exclude competitors or any named entity before the auction opens.

Do we have to deal with buyers directly?

No. Xferdata is the vendor of record, so buyers contract with us rather than with you. You are not set up as a data vendor and you are not negotiating with several buyers at once.

Do we still own the data?

Yes. You keep ownership. Buyers get a license to use the data on agreed terms for an agreed period, and nothing changes hands outright unless you decide to sell it that way. Licensing is what makes the revenue recurring rather than one-off.

## Find out what yours is worth

Twenty questions, and a number back.
